CONURE — Stream

It is difficult for a listener to step away from the narrative concept behind Conure's previous CD ("The Generation of Our Grandfathers" - Edgetone Records) and just immerse oneself in the sounds. With his new work, Mark Wilson decided to utilize non-musical themes in a different manner in order to allow that immersion. Themes run throughout the five tracks of "Stream", but this time, the themes were used primarily as building blocks rather than as the focus of the CD.
His new creation is rawer than previous works while still retaining the compositional strengths of "The Generation of Our Grandfathers" and "49 Minutes (Until Release)" (Crunch Pod). The music, constructed primarily from field recordings and other mic'ed sound processed through effects pedals, is probably the closest that Conure has come to reproducing the sound of his live performances in the studio environment.
