Four years in the making, "Background Curtain" is a collaboration between the legend of the ambient underground Dirk Serries (Fear Falls Burning, Vidna Obmana) and Will Long of Celer, dynamically developing his style for over 10 years. This album was delevoped over 4 years of sending each other recordings. Long sent Dirk a long track of collaged, stretched tape pieces... Dirk sent Long some tracks that he had made while listening to the piece. Using that original track that Long sent Dirk at the very beginning as a sound source, he shaped it exactly like Dirk's responding source file; the musical colour and frequencies were the same, but the effects and enveloping was triggered by the waves of Dirk's track. Where does one thing begin and another end? Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel ecopak designed by Rutger Zuydervelt (Machinefabriek) based on a photograph by Will Long (Celer).
