About one hour of continuous recording capturing the coming of the rain, its climax and the return of activity after its disappearance. The sound of rain drops is mixed with ambient sounds of cars, bikes and human beings talking and playing in the area, all together recorded with a microphone placed under a metal bowl standing in the rain for special resonances. The result is treated with constantly changing delay, filters, lofi and echo effects to sound like a distant memory. Various synthetic sounds accompany the natural sounds to increase their impact and enrich the final texture. "Schauer" allows the listener to participate in one of the small and profane "micro-dramas" our daily life repeatedly confronts us with. Ambient sound with concrete roots, hopefully allowing the listener to open his ears for the complex aural environment he lives in." [label info]
