More Info

'Borderlands' was released in 1999 with John Everall, Teresa Mills (also painter and author of the original cover) and Jhonn Balance (COIL) on the first track, 'Grief' with an original text by William Hope Hodgson over an ominous wave of sound. This album is finally available on double vinyl, including a bonus track, the eight tracks here are pretty typical for Tactile: rumbling/buzzing drone pieces with a personal atmospheric vision so cold and worm at the same time, each individual track does have a certain tonal nature and feel. 'Borderlands' works well as a whole, in fact I believe it is meant to be taken in as one long piece. Developmental drones, slightly higher degree of variations, perfect background for Balance's spoken words. This music seems to be hypnotic and intentionally desolate, somber and emotionally bleak.
