"Latest work of long-form mesmerism from two of the masters of subliminally-affecting environmental drone. Chalk plays mute piano, string organ, synthesizer, electric piano, bass, strings and radio, Suzuki uses vocals, tin cans, steps, bowed metal, percussion, flute, swings and field recordings. This is a very delicate recording, with melancholy field recordings populated by bells, low drones, slow single-note piano reveries and music box melodies in a way that brings to mind people, times and places long since past. Despite the very minimal nature of the sonics, there’s more recognisable instrumental activity than much of Chalks’ work and it has the aspect of an audio diary as much as a series of evocative drone settings. Comes packaged in the usual gorgeous hand-made art sleeves with obi strip. Features Vikki Jackman and Naoko Suzuki. Edition of 300 copies." [Volcanic Tongue]
