This settlement, littered with leaden and arsenic slag and surrounded by the remains of forests burnt by sulphur, is located at dead-end siding of the South Ural railway. It has another name – Pirit, which in Russian is an anagram of the word "yperite" and it really reflects the influence of place on inhabitants: diseases of CNS and glands, cancer and oligophrenia."
