Charlemagne Palestine organ. 'Schlingen Blngen for Organo Rinascimentale Non Temperato' (2004).
'Through my desire to find a sound form that rivaled Abstract Expressionist painters like Rothko, Newman, Still, around 1965 I attempted with the help of a 19th century treatise by Helmholtz, 'On the sensation of tone', and my own exhaustive experimentation with the pipe organ and early electronic synthesizers, to develop a constantly changing molecule like organism as a continuous sound form.
By 1977 those investigations became Schlingen Blngen, a work for electronic oscillators or pipe organ that can last from an hour to several days nonstop in sonic constant chemical acoustic + architectural evolution + transformation in space.'
