More Info "Ähnlich wie letztes Jahr Ian William Craig rutscht kurz vor knapp eine Ambient Produktion in die Topliste von einer Künstlerin, die ich vorher noch überhaupt nicht auf dem Zettel hatte, mich aber im Hieb mit ihrem sehr eigenen Sound begeistert. Es geht, wie man dem Titel entnehmen kann, natürlich um Schlaflosigkeit, um eine durchwachte Nacht. Das wird schon beim Durchlesen der Tracklist klar. Wir starten um Mitternacht (Midnight) und sind am frühen Morgen (Dark Hours of Early Morning) immer noch Zeugen dieser durchwachten Nacht. Die Müdigkeit lullt uns ein, wir driften gedanklich weg, lassen in unseren Gedanken alles zu und nehmen nur noch verhuscht, wie durch eine Kamera, über deren Objektiv ein faltiger Damenstrumpf gelegt wurde, wahr. Im Sound wird das wiedergegeben durch viele verhallte Instrumente wie Gitarren, Klavier, Trompeten und elfenhafter Gesang. Das Meiste wurde von der Künstlerin, die hauptamtlich eigentlich Gitarre in diversen Extreme Metal Bands spielt und eine zeitlang auch bei Amber Asylum musizierte, selbst eingespielt. Der Gesang beim Höhepunkt Pull wurde von Leilas Mutter Kat Young beigesteuert. Vielleicht der Versuch, durch eine Art Wiegenlied doch noch in den Schlaf zu kommen? Ein Album, das viele tatsächlich dem Dark Ambient zuordnen würden, Ambient ist es, von seiner Stimmung her auch eher dunkel. Aber die Schlaflosigkeit wird hier nicht als Bedrohung dargestellt, sondern irgendwie mehr als eine andere Art des Erlebens.
