"The Swedish group Cloudchamber has existed since 1998, but the members had earlier been collaborating some years in different projects.

The main agent in Cloudchamber's music is the collective sound. Compared to much other improvised music, the soloistic is put in the background. In spite of the widely differing personalities and timbral characters, every musician is acting as a part of Cloudchamber through his special character without any predetermined hierarchy or place in the sound image.

Cloudchamber's members are:

Johannes Bergmark invented constructions, saw, moog, voice, specializes on his own constructions. He is an educated piano technician and also active in Fylkingen, FRIM, the Surrealist Group and at EMS. He has made music for radio theatre, slide shows, many dance- and theater groups and worked in many countries, e.g. with the unorthodox multi-instrumentalists Hal Rammel (US), Hugh Davies, the Bohman Brothers (UK) and Martin Klapper (CZ).
Martin Küchen, saxophones, fujara, miscellaneous percussion, radio, barrel. Improvising musician with a past as a neo-circus- and theater musician. At present working in the Stockholm-based improvising groups Hogwash and Sound of Mucus. He has a collaboration with the percussionist Burkhard Beins in Berlin, Martin Klapper and Raymond Strid. Active member of Fylkingen and FRIM.
Sören Runolf, electric guitar, cello and electronics. He has played free improvised music since the end of the 70'ies, e.g. in Lokomotiv Konkret, Too Much Too Soon Orchestra and in duos with Sten Sandell and Mats Lindström. Active on EMS and active member of Fylkingen and FRIM.

When Cloudchamber was formed, Christian Werner (violin, voice etc) was also a member. It was then an expansion of Horror Vacui which formed in '92 and consisted of Bergmark, Küchen and Werner." [www.bergmark.org]
