[label info] www.editionsmego.com "Oneohtrix Point Never album 'Returnal' did not make it into these pages - sadly enough, as the releases on No Fun were greatly appreciated. That leaves me a bit in the 'dark' as to this 7" with two remixes of the title track. Antony (from Antony and the Johnsons) fame strips the lyrics and sings them in his characteristic voice, with Daniel OPN on piano, and makes this into a great ballad. A haunting piece, or should that be a haunted piece? Ghostly. On the other side we find Fennesz, the true master of digital music, the absolute top class of his kind, and he takes the analogue world of Oneohtrix Point Never into the world of bits and bytes, effectively yet minimally stretching the song of the original into a likewise haunting digital ballad. Haunting, not haunted, I'd say, which makes a small difference. This too is a great piece. Now I would have wished to hear the original. This 7" of two great remixes made me all the more curious."
