Two electro-acoustic devices, made of pieces and trifles (speakers, microphones, electronics, CD player, tape recorders, toys ). A really electro-acoustic blend that play without any external amplification system. Acoustical only in a way. Total improvisation. Absolute permanent anything. A sort of kind of play on substances, rythms and tensions. Sources-jam and trails cutted-up. From the limit of the audible to the scream of the larsen. They work together since 1993, as a duo or with other musicians like Mathieu Werchowski, Martine Altenburger, Keith Rowe, Emmanuel Petit, Mathieu Chamagne, Carole Rieussec, Jean-Christophe Camps, Lê Quan Ninh or the project called Le Cube (films, sounds, lights ) with Metamkine or the Quatuor Avant with Jean Pallandre, Marc Pichelin, Laurent Sassi."

"And here comes a new installment in the Mort Aux Vaches series, with five tracks recorded by two french composers of "musique concr?te" for the dutch VRPO radio station. For the purpose of this show, these two musicians improvised with devices mades of microphones, tapes, speakers and toys, producing an extremely experimental music that will not please the close minded.
The music on this five tracks is overall quite calm, made of a lot of soft gritting sounds, of accoustic percussions, of microscopic beats looped for a very long time, and of samples ranging from a saxophone (I think it's a saxophone, at least) to a baby's voice. The sound is quite dynamic, with sudden outburst of density, and the combination between electronic and accoustic sounds is well managed.
Not ambient at all, but absolutely not rhythmic, this CD requires a lot of attention from the listener, since it varies a lot and silence is one of its main element. Totally improvised, it's still well done and quite deep. Maybe not the most seducive disc you'll listen to, this live recording has some nice moments and might appeal to both people into electro-accoustic and noise enthusiasts, since most of the sounds used are distorted, sometimes close to feedback, and generally speaking quite abrasive. In conclusion, if you're think you can be interested by a CD that is described in its promo sheet as "absolute permanent anything", try this and you shouldn't be disappointed."
